Steve Price is a legend of league on both sides of the Tasman, and one of the most personable sporting celebrities to grace New Zealand shores. He has a humble yet compelling nature coupled with intelligence and experience making him one of the best role models and leaders in sport today and an articulate and expressive keynote speaker.
Previous experience
His league career spanned 17 years debuting in 1994 with the Canterbury Bulldogs, moving to the New Zealand Warriors in 2005, where he announced his retirement in the 2010 season. Steve was the 11th player to reach 300 games in the NRL competition, and played 28 games for Queensland State of Origin a record for any forward. He took up country duties once more as part of the Australian World Cup team in 2008.
Ambitious and driven, Steve graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2010. His business acumen, knowledge of Rugby League and sport in general set him apart from other professional sportspeople.
Awards
In 2010 he was made a Member of the NZ Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to NZ Rugby League, something he is extremely proud of.
With his family he has embraced the Kiwi lifestyle whilst maintaining pride in his homeland of Australia. His business acumen and ability to continue to build the brand that is Steve Price, is what sets him apart from other professional sports people. Steve is an Ambassador for the Child Cancer Foundation, a cause close to his heart, to which he has an annual event in his name to raise funds for the charity. He is currently working with a number of corporates in partnership roles as well as being a favourite Key Note Speaker in New Zealand and Australia.
