As the only person to successfully row solo from Australia to New Zealand, Shaun’s extraordinary feat mirrors that of his father, Colin Quincey, who completed the same journey in reverse in 1977, making them the only duo in history to have conquered the Tasman solo in opposite directions.
Shaun’s solo Tasman voyage was a grueling test of endurance and courage, spanning 54 days and some of the most treacherous waters on Earth. His journey included collisions with whales, multiple capsizes, and harrowing moments trapped beneath his vessel. Despite being blown over 200km off course, Shaun’s determination brought him to New Zealand’s Ninety Mile Beach, cementing his place in history.
Following this epic adventure, Shaun transitioned to the business world, achieving remarkable success. As the founder of Genoapay, he revolutionized the payment solutions industry, with the company valued at nearly $10 million within its first six months of operation. Genoapay was later acquired by Latitude, where Shaun became General Manager and led its expansion into Australia with LatitudePay.
Shaun’s entrepreneurial journey continued as he took on pivotal leadership roles, including as a Director at Icehouse Ventures and PayLeadr. Now, as CEO and Co-founder of Simfuni, Shaun is once again breaking boundaries.
