Scott Bishop is a true customer advocate, a design driven storyteller and “maker.” He is an entrepreneurial, product management executive with a blend of strategy, business modelling and research acumen.
Dynamic, people-oriented and results-driven, he has a proven track record of driving innovation at some of the world’s leading companies such as Microsoft and Amazon.
Current work
In 2021, Scott started a role of as Executive General Manager of Innovation & Ventures at IAG, running their Firemark Labs.
Prior to this, he was running the Innovation Refinery at Z Energy - an incubation team responsible for building the overall capability of the firm and for building the next generation products and services “that matter for a moving world.” His team is responsible for creating 2 world firsts within the first 18 months at Z. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director for Flick Electric.
Previous experience
He grew up with the Seattle Tech scene. Prior to joining Z, he ran Product Management, Innovation and Design at Amazon. Before Amazon, Scott spent 13 years at Microsoft in numerous leadership roles. He has built numerous new products and business that have generated tens to hundreds of millions of dollars and remain in-market today.
Bishop earned his MBA in Entrepreneurship from the University of Washington and holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin. He helped author the business plan that established the Entrepreneurship programme at the University of Washington and has lectured on Corporate Innovation across the US. In his spare time, Scott enjoys spending time playing soccer, hiking, climbing and camping. He lives with his family in Auckland.
