Media presenter and reporter, Nicky Styris, has been involved in sports journalism and television presenting for 20 years.
Current role
Nicky has been a frequent sports host on TV3's AM Show and the weekend sports news anchor at Newshub since 2018. She is also an integral member of the sports reporting team, bringing sports news stories to television. She is the mother of two daughters and the wife of former Blackcaps cricketer, Scott Styris.
Background
Nicky has a background as a fashion model and is a former trampolinist from New Zealand. In the Miss New Zealand Beauty pageant, she came in second place.
Nicky earned a double major in Physical Education and Arts and worked as a high school history and physical education teacher for several years before deciding to pursue a career in sports journalism. She started her career as a sports reporter for TVNZ before becoming the host of Sky TV's Sport 365 News show.
Before joining TV3 as a sports reporter in 2016, she took a break to support Scott's exciting Blackcaps career.
Through personal experience, her marriage to Scott, and her participation in television sports journalism, Nicky has been immersed in the world of sport. Nicky is dedicated to her health and well-being, emphasising the importance of "balance and moderation."
Nicky has a deep understanding of most sports, as well as live sports event coverage and studio presenting experience.
