When Mike Hesson was appointed as Head Coach of the BlackCaps in 2012, he was considered an outsider by many having never played international Cricket.
But with a clear vision of reaching the Cricket World Cup 2015 final and a meticulous plan to achieve that vision, he and the team brought the entire nation along with them.
New Zealand rose from a ranking of eighth in the world to being one win away from world champions. From there, Mike has been New Zealand cricket's longest-serving and most successful coach, earning an international reputation as a leader who achieves results without sacrificing on culture. Currently Mike is working with High Performance Sport NZ as a mentor to the coaching team.
