Cricket commentator, prime-time TV host and former New Zealand Cricket Player, Mark Richardson became well-known for his candid commentary and wry humour.
Mark has had an incredible career in broadcasting firstly commentating test matches on SKY Sport, which soon became a co-hosting role on the cult-favourite sports show The Crowd Goes Wild followed by breakfast radio on The Sound and Today FM.
In 2012, Mark began hosting Three’s popular DIY TV Show, The Block where he was voted as Best Presenter at the TV Guide Best on the Box Awards. In 2017, Mark moved to a co-hosting role on Three’s The AM Show alongside Duncan Garner and Amanda Gillies, a much-loved role he held until 2021.
Education
Originally from the Hawke’s Bay, Mark started his tertiary education at Waikato University before moving to Otago University where he completed his BCom in Finance. Mark also holds a Commercial Pilots Licence.
Cricket
Before beginning his broadcasting career, Mark played Cricket for Auckland and Otago, first as a bowler and then a batsman, retiring from the Black Caps cricket team in 2004.
