John McBeth has been a sports broadcaster for 30 years so can quite justifiably be termed a "veteran".
Previous experience
Radio He was New Zealand's leading radio rugby commentator for 10 years and covered all the All Black tours, internal tours and the first two World Cups.
John has been involved in three Olympic Games, three Commonwealth Games, three Americas Cup regattas and three Rugby World Cups as well as numerous other sporting events.
Among many highlights, John rates being the commentator when Danyon Loader won the first of his two gold medals in the pool at the Atlanta Olympics as one of the best. But he has no hesitation in placing Team New Zealand's America's Cup victory in 1995 right up alongside Loader's victory. He spent five months with Team New Zealand in San Diego and presented hours and hours of live coverage back to eager New Zealanders.
Backed by his years of experience as a TV presenter and sports broadcaster - John is an entertaining and polished MC and speaker.
