Experienced MC Carly Flynn has a wealth of experience both on and off the screen, and on the stage.
A journalist, presenter and much-loved broadcaster, Carly enjoys meeting and talking with people and is passionate about sharing stories and connecting people.
Previous experience
A journalist, broadcaster and TV presenter for more than 20 years, Carly has hosted a number of News and Entertainment shows, including Nightline, Sunrise, 3News. Newshub Late, Prime News, and is also known for her roles as presenter of TV3’s flagship consumer affairs programme Target, Choice TV's Cook the Books and The Healthy Food Guide.
Carly gained a Bachelor of MediArts in the late 90s and has worked in the industry ever since. Working as a newsreader and radio host on a number of Mediaworks radio stations, she also writes and commentates on a variety of topics, while juggling a busy family life.
Current work
Carly currently works for a variety of Mediaworks Radio stations, and Discovery NZ's news bulletins.
Carly is also a qualified Yoga instructor, passionate gardener and tennis player.
Achievements
Carly's career highlights include reporting for Global networks from the aftermath of the Samoan Tsunami, fronting the Telethon for Kidscan which raised over a million dollars for kiwi kids, hosting Coca Cola Christmas in the Park, a 12-part conference on Diversity for M2, and work for Kiwi Wealth as a brand ambassador to promote better financial literacy.
Carly was also finalist in the Best Television Presenter category at the prestigious New Zealand Film and Television Awards.
Background
Originally from Taupo, New Zealand, Carly currently lives on Auckland’s North Shore with husband Dave and their three children Tilly, Jude and Freddie, and Cocker Spaniel Alfie.
