Brooke Howard-Smith is an X Games medallist, social entrepreneur, award-winning television personality, and founder of multiple world-class companies. With a career spanning extreme sports, media, philanthropy, and cutting-edge technology, he has been at the forefront of innovation, entertainment, and community-driven initiatives in New Zealand and beyond.

At 19, Brooke co-created Senate, a skate accessories company that grew into a multimillion-dollar global brand. While touring with some of the biggest names in action sports, including Tony Hawk, Arlo Eisenberg, and Matt Hoffman, he honed his skills in branding and marketing through collaborations with creative visionaries such as Shep Fairey and Dave Kinsey. His career as an athlete saw him claim a bronze medal at the 1995 X Games, solidifying his place in extreme sports history.

Brooke transitioned into television, quickly becoming a well-known face on New Zealand screens. He began his presenting career in the U.S. on MTV and ESPN before returning home to host popular shows such as Target, Celebrity Joker Poker, XSTV, and coverage of the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France. His versatility saw him front diverse programmes, including NZ Performance Car TV, Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park, and telethons like Big Night In and Rise Up Christchurch. In 2014, he hosted the Cadbury Dream Factory, further cementing his reputation as an engaging and charismatic broadcaster.

As an entrepreneur, Brooke has been a driving force behind pioneering companies in the creator economy, Web3, and the metaverse. He co-founded WeAreTENZING, New Zealand's largest independent creator management company, as well as Otterfish, a software platform streamlining creator campaigns for brands and agencies. He played a key role in Non-Fungible Labs and FLUF World, an expansive metaverse ecosystem that generated over $250 million USD in sales within nine months, making it one of the world's most successful NFT and digital asset ventures.

A passionate philanthropist, Brooke has produced some of New Zealand’s most significant televised fundraisers, including Rise Up Christchurch, Red Nose Day, and Comedy for Cure Kids. He was instrumental in the Team Ball Player Thing campaign for the All Blacks’ 2015 Rugby World Cup bid, enlisting global stars like Taika Waititi, Joel Little, Peter Jackson, and Lorde. His fundraising efforts, including spearheading Non-Fungible Labs' 24-hour auction for the Auckland City Mission, have helped raise over $10 million for charitable causes.

With an instinct for innovation and a talent for bringing people together, Brooke continues to shape industries and create meaningful impact through technology, media, and philanthropy.

Feedback
Brooke was the best MC we have had for this event in recent years. We have only received positive feedback about him and our Board in particularly thought he was fantastic. He really nailed the crowd, was very prepared and managed to hold the audience. I'd engage him again in a heartbeat. The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ)
