After winning the Billy T Award in 2004, Ben set off for the UK where he honed his craft on their notoriously competitive comedy circuit. 2008 saw him win The Fred Award for comedic excellence, and he has won the NZ Comedy Guild’s Best MC and Best Male Comedian many times.
Ben has conquered the toughest of crowds and reviewers alike and is adept at tailoring his material, and persona, to what any show requires. Well versed in hosting, MC work, and events, he has a long list of credentials in the corporate world, and regularly performs stand- up around the country.

Our event is a formal awards night and a set script. Ben brings in humour into the evening with some great impromptu banter with people. Ben manages the crowd perfectly.
Ben was excellent he was able to calm everyone down and make everyone feel so much more relaxed. There was a bit of heckling going on and we had a couple of issues with the microphone/sound quality which Ben was able to overcome he was very supportive and adaptable to the situation. Also chatted and had a drink afterwards with everyone which was very much appreciated. Definitely a highlight of the conference.

Ben was an exceptional MC and after dinner speaker, to his credit he completely set the tone for the entire evening and put everyone into such a good mood for the night. He was extremely flexible about the ad-hoc structure of the awards part of the evening, Ben read the room perfectly and presented accordingly, he got the crowd involved, even when there was loud music from an event in the room above, he turned it into a positive with a bit of fun. Ben presented himself impeccably for the black tie theme and was overall a delight. Would love to have Ben back for future events.
Ben did an amazing job! We had so much great feedback from everyone who attended, they absolutely loved him. He had everyone in fits of laughter and when the sound on one of our winners videos didn't work, he jumped in and freestyled the whole thing. Ben was unbelievably professional. His experience as a speaker in this environment resonated as he spent time with the group before and after his set. I am a comedy show regular and I have never seen a room completely respond to a comic. There is usually a few who have different taste or values. Ben got them all thigh slapping!!
